Falcon and the Winter Soldier: What to Know

 Hey, Shawmba here...

Friday, March 19th will be the season premiere of Marvel's next television show "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. Below will be a sort of checklist as to what you should know going into the show and serve as a refresher if it's been a while since these characters have been in the spotlight. As such, if you are not caught up with the events in the MCU up until Avengers Endgame, this post will spoil movies such as Captain America 2, Captain America 3, Avengers Infinity War, and Avengers Endgame. You have been warned.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier takes place after the events of Avengers Endgame. Steve Rodgers, the former Captain America, has grown old after electing to stay in the past and live a life with his love, Peggy Carter as he is returning the Infinity Stones to their proper time periods. In doing so, he passed on the shield to Sam Wilson, the Falcon. With Captain America out of the picture, more villainous organizations may try to seize power, an issue that Sam and Bucky will have to deal with.

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, the landscape of heroes working with the government has changed. Both Sam and Bucky were team Cap, and opposed the Sokovia Accords, thus making them enemies of the state. Sure the events of Infinity War and Endgame helped them repair their relationship with the U.S government, but the resentment is still there. As of writing this post, I have not seen the first episode, but this is all something to keep in mind as we watch. Speaking of Civil War, Baron Zemo is returning as the villain for Sam and Bucky to defeat. it will be interesting to see his motives, and what he has planned. I am excited for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and I hope you all are now as well. Talk to you soon!
