Pi Day!

 3/14 was Pi π Day

3.14159265359,,, and so on. We all know of Pi (Life of?), the mathematical constant defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Pi day, March 14th, is the commemorative holiday of this mathematical constant. Pi day is most commonly observe by eating all forms and types of pies, and Shawn and I are pie zealots.

On the holy Pi (Key Lime?) Day, my co-blogger Shawn and I visited the most hallowed place of of food: Blaze Pizza. Known for their made-to-order pizza approach, Blaze Pizza's wood-fired Pie's were the perfect Pi day treat. A big factor in choosing Blaze Pizza on Pi day is the price! With the Blaze app, you can get one pizza for just $3.14! Never hurts to save some money.

Let me run you through that glorious 11" pie in the picture. A classic pizza dough is necessary for that authentic taste and feel. Layered on top is a spicy marinara sauce to give the pie a little kick, and a garlic pesto along the crust to add more flavor. A mozzarella and goat cheese blanket separates the sauce from the toppings. For protein, the pie is loaded with Pepperoni and Italian sausage for that authentic Italian taste. Next up, the veggies include some spinach, onions, and Kalamata olives to top off that Mediterranean mix. A dash of oregano rounds off the additions and the pie was whisked off to be gloriously flamed in a wood-fire brick oven. The crunch of the classic dough mixed with the Greco-Italian toppings and the kick of the spicy sauce, transports the eater to an ethereal Pi dimension.

The Pie is best washed down with a nice cold sweet iced tea. It's fresh ingredients, made-to-order pie's, wood-fired brick oven, and ridiculously low price definitely make Blaze Pizza the best Pi Day rendezvous!

I hope you enjoyed this culinary journey with Shawn and I on our favorite holiday, Pi Day! Let us know in the comments where our taste buds should travel to next!
